The Quick List Formulas Review
The Quick List Formulas is an eBook about List Building from Steven Johnson.
2 weeks ago, Automated List Builder by Chris Freville was released. It’s now the turn to The Quick List Formulas.
Launch date: 2nd of August, 2008, less than 10 days from now.
Steven Johnson has given me a review copy so I can share my thoughts with my readers.
Read on to know how The Quick List Formulas performs compared to Automated List Builder.
But first, who is Steven Johnson?
Steven Johnson has been involved in Internet marketing for more than two years, but he only started building his list in January 2008. Until recently he was struggling like many internet marketers and didn’t manage to make a single dime. After throwing all the eBooks he bought about making money on the internet he tried his own strategies and managed to get very successful!
At 20 years old and in 5 months only, he managed to grow his first list to over 200,000 subscribers! In 5 months only. This is what I call a huge success!
This is what his guide is all about. He shows us how he did it and prove that by following his methods anyone can do it.
There is a catch though. To reach the same level you will have to follow his methods step by step. There is work involved. It’s not difficult but it can require some efforts on your part.
What I can say is that sometimes we have to get out of our own comfort zone. This time the process is made easy thanks to his step by step approach.
What is inside The Quick List Formula
The eBook is about 60 pages long. Steven covers 4 main topics which are ALL essential.
1/ Market research: Not like others do it.
He splits markets into 3 different categories:
- short life / short life
- short life / long life
- long life / long life
The latest one being the only one to consider for list building. He goes into great details and you really don’t have to be afraid as it’s easier than what you might think.
He also exposes a very simple and quick method that I have found fantastic. I have never thought about this myself. Thanks to this strategy you can find out exactly what a market really wants (page 17) so it becomes easy to market to them. This is invaluable information.
2/ Squeeze pages
Steven shows us one of his squeeze pages. Don’t worry if your web design skills are not up to scratch as you really only need to create a simple page with an opt in box. However, it is vital to follow some points in order for your squeeze page to convert at a high level and Steven has tested and found several ultra important points that are revealed in the The Quick List Formulas eBook.
He also reveals a simple and very quick technique that you can use for markets you don’t know anything about. Before using this technique Steven got 2 subscribes for 100 visitors in a quite obscure niche. After using the technique he got 70 subscribes for every 100 visitors. I really love the technique he used to get to that level as it is absolutely non-time consuming and very (should I say really very very very) easy! I’m pretty sure very few know anything about it and it could benefit any marketer whatever his experience level is (page 25).
3/ Traffic methods
Then Steven shares with us a bunch of methods to drive targeted traffic to your squeeze pages. Most of them are free. Some needs a financial investment. However once you have started to build your list with the free strategies and started to make money from it nothing stops you from jumping to the paying ones (note: the free ones ARE the best performers, one in particular!)
One of the free methods (page 40) is one of the most effective ways to get targeted traffic quickly. I read something about it some months ago but it was sounding so simplistic that I overlooked it. Well obviously it was a big mistake from me. Steven’s results prove it.
But IMHO the most impressive strategy is without any doubt his secret formula (page 42). When I read it I just thought he was crazy for having tested such a thing! But when I think about it, it makes so much sense… Plus the added benefit of this method is that 100% of the people signing up to your newsletter WANT to buy from you the products you recommend them! 100%!
4/ What to do with your subscribers
Your relation with your subscribers starts from the very first moment they subscribe. Steven shows you a way to make money from them before they even receive your first email. He also explains what you have to say in your first email and why. Actually I did exactly the opposite with my first list and even with my second one. I lost a lot of time and energy because of that. His advice would have helped me a lot at that time. He then explains what is the best way to maximize your profits from each email you will send in the future.
The final note
A good thing is that after all this detailed info, Steven has written a brief and to the point to do list recapitulating all the steps you have to follow to go from 0 to 200,000 subscribers in just 5 months like he did.
3 Bonuses which seem very interesting and useful but unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to get access to them yet. They will be available at the launch date though.
In conclusion
I really enjoyed reading The Quick List Formulas and have learnt many strategies I didn’t think about. Despite his young age, I think that Steven has really mastered the art of list building, making him an excellent teacher for whoever wants to start building his own profit pulling lists.
